Delete your Crossbuck account
Effective September 24, 2026
You can delete your Crossbuck account and the data linked to it at any time: in the app, on this page, or by email.
In the app
- Open Crossbuck and tap the Settings button at the top right.
- Under Account, tap Delete account (or Delete my data if you haven't signed in), then Delete to confirm.
Once you confirm, your account and its data are deleted right away (see what's kept below), and the app carries on as a new guest. If the app can't reach us, for example while you're offline, nothing is deleted: it tells you, and you can try again.
On this website
No longer have the app? Sign in with the Google account you used in Crossbuck, then confirm. Signing in proves the account is yours, and your account is deleted right away, as in the app. From then on we refuse crossing reports sent for it. If Crossbuck is still on a phone, it notices the next time it's opened with an internet connection: it stops watching, discards anything it hadn't sent, and starts as a new guest. Signing in with Apple here will come with Crossbuck for iPhone.
By email
If you can't sign in, email privacy@crossbuck.app from the email address of the Google account you signed in with. We'll reply to check the request is yours, then delete the account within 30 days of your reply and tell you when it's done.
What's deleted
- Your account, and the Google or Apple sign-in linked to it, including the name and email address that came with it (Google's Firebase keeps these for us).
- The crossing events your phone reported ("stopped", "cleared" or "left" at a crossing).
What's kept for a while
- Our database backups hold your data for up to 30 days. If we ever restore one, we delete your account again.
- Our server logs, with your IP address and requests, for up to 30 days.
- Crash reports, which aren't linked to your account: Crashlytics keeps them 90 days before removing them.
- Counts from app use already added to our statistics, such as how many drivers use Crossbuck. They hold no account IDs or individual reports. (Crossing history on crossbuck.app comes from public FRA reports, not from your account.)
Deleting the app removes what it stored on your phone, but not anything on our servers, and a backup of your phone may still hold a copy.
If you only used Crossbuck as a guest
A guest account has no name or email; it's only a random ID on your phone. Use Delete my data in the app. If you've already deleted the app, the guest ID went with it: the crossing events linked to it are deleted after 90 days, as for every account, and the guest account itself after a year without use. Because nothing ties a guest account to you, we can't find it from an email.
